Colin Conway

I design digital products at Nielsen

...AKA "The TV Ratings Company", in a separate business unit servicing Consumer Packaged Goods and multiple adjacent verticals. Projects include input/output for respondent surveys, field study analysis and reporting tools that distill complex data into consultative narratives with actionable insights.
The work I do helps clients bring successful innovations to market faster.

My process leverages skills in Visual Design, Web Development and Research to create applications that are collaborative, engaging, and achieve results.

The What part of my process

What

Motivated by opportunities for positive outcomes, I am a self-starter and critical thinker. My experience leverages conventional design knowledge upon evolving skills in latest practices and tools.

The Why part of my process

Why

Intuition and empathy are center-stage throughout all phases of a project lifecycle in which hypotheses, technical constraints and priorities are evaluated to align user goals with business objectives.

The How part of my process

How

I take a user-centric, multidisciplinary approach to design, front-end development and copywriting. Paired with business expertise, I bring a pragmatic mindset to where working across functions is essential.

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME

My affinity for design dates back to adolescence when I was writing for an international Rock music magazine and publishing my own on a shoestring budget out of my parents’ house. As a fledgling Middle School art class painter using my artistic skills for cut and paste photocopied compositions, I later discovered the digital principles necessary for print design, and HTML shortly thereafter, for a companion website with an egregious usage of frames and animated gifs. Yeah, I've been doing this a while.

In addition to passion projects in design (such as this website), I moonlight as a musican and have a knack for travel, fumbling my way through two other languages, expert-level snowboarding, novice-level surfing and rock climbing.
